EDUCATION

Valerie Mendoza received her Ph.D. degree in history from the University of California, Berkeley and her BA from the Johns Hopkins University.

EXPERIENCE

She has been a professor, mentor and coach since 1990 at numerous schools including Ohio University, the Ohio State University, the University of Kansas, and University of California, Berkeley.

Most recently she was the assistant director of the McNair Scholars Program at Ohio University where she guided undergraduates through the graduate school admissions process and served as a learning coach.

Dr. Mendoza resides in Athens, Ohio with her husband George and daughter Victoria.
